Purple Sari Ribbon Bracelet

I had such fun designing and making this bracelet. I have had this purple sari ribbon (hand cut from saris in Nepal) for some time, contemplating what I could use it for. I chose a heavy antique silver chain as the base for the bracelet and attached tuffs of sari ribbon. I next added wooden beads in white, deep pink and orange, hanging in clusters from the chain. I then choose a selection of Tibetan silver charms, a cute little cat, a frog, a mouse with a movable tail and a star. I closed the bracelet with a clasp and left an extension chain so that it will fit several sizes.
Wearable Length from 21cms to 23.5cms

Made in Ireland...Shipped from Ireland

Can you resist owning this pretty bracelet?
... and of course as always with my jewellery, each one is unique in design.

You will find many more unique designs.......necklaces, earrings and more bracelets in my Etsy Shop ..... and beautiful hand bags too!

My Waterlily Handbag Part 3

Part 3 Making the leaves and flower petals

The leaves cut and quilted ready for stitching

The hand painted silk leaves ready to sew onto bag

Three layers of flower petals are all lined and overlocked and I have placed the leaves  ready to stitch to the backing fabric

I decided to interline and quilt the body of the bag as I wanted a soft luxurious feel to it, so I shall be busy for the next few days with that....look out for the final part of this series.

Garden News for June

In my Garden...June

Well I don't know about flaming June, I have had my thermals and fleeces within easy reach for most of it ...never mind wellies and waterproofs!
But the garden still needs attention whatever the weather. With all the wet most plants have grown very quickly but without the sun and insects I'm not so sure that the plants that rely on these for pollination etc. will do so well... we shall see!
Broad beans have done well and I am eating them already

There are a few peas appearing and they are lovely raw in Salads

The runner beans are flowering, but no signs of beans yet

In this jungle are courgettes, squash and vegetable spaghetti, I shall have to wait for some fruit before I can tell which is which!  And there are going to be plenty of male flowers which I can fill with feta cheese and deep fry.  mmmmm!

The brassicas have got over the shock of being transplanted and are doing well...so are the weeds!

Apples and Raspberries are just starting to get going

Just a few flowers and shrubs to end with...and are such a joy to behold!

Thats all for now...Happy Gardening!
